Getting Involved

Below is a list of considerations for anyone who may be interested in becoming a member of the Timeline 2012 community. These considerations ensure that a potential member understands the commitment they are making to themselves, the community, and the other members.

There are three levels of participation in the Timeline 2012 community with each level having its own considerations and commitments.

  • Level 1: Participation in the role of volunteer, intern, advisor, consultant, service provider, sponsor, or financial support. At this level, a participant may be in regular contact with the Timeline 2012 development committees or may maintain anonymity, if so desired. As an option, these participants may request to become members of the community.

  • Level 2: Participation as a member of the community. At this level, a member is aligned with the principles and lifestyle of the Timeline 2012 community and is ready, willing, and able to leave society, as we know it, and relocate to the community location. Members must have let go of all material possessions including real estate and furniture, and be prepared to let go of the need for a personal vehicle. Personal belongings will be limited to approximately two suitcases per individual. Members must have consolidated their personal assets as preparation and for contribution to the community project. They must be rid of their attachment to electronic devices for life off-the-grid or be in the process of eliminating such dependencies. They must be willing to process and let go of all addictions and emotional luggage. Members will be required to attend orientation meetings on “life in the community”. Upon completion of the orientation process, members will be relocated to the community project where they will engage in the community lifestyle and participate in the ongoing development process.

  • Level 3: Participation as a committee member. At this level, a participant is automatically a member of the community, is aligned with the concepts of sustainable communities, and be able to commit to the ongoing planning and development activities of the community. These members will be assigned to a committee and given responsibilities that are suited to their background and specific areas of expertise. Committee members must have let go of a majority of material possessions including real estate, furniture, and vehicles. They must be ready, willing, and able to relocate to a planning and development facility, commit 100% of their efforts towards the community project, and sever relationships with past business ventures. At this level, members will have access to communication for planning and development purposes and limited casual communication with the outside world. Members must have already processed or let go of addictions and emotional luggage. Committee members will embody the principles and lifestyle of the Timeline 2012 community (see Overview).

This community is free of drugs and stimulants. There will be no alcohol, tobacco, drugs, caffeine, or meat consumed in the community. Due to a variety of considerations, no “personal” pets will be allowed in the community. Those who have a clear understanding of the events surrounding 2012 and the community living arrangements will certainly appreciate this delicate decision.

Member Screening:

The Timeline 2012 Membership Committee is responsible for screening applications and interviewing new members. The screening process will take into account a variety of factors about a prospective member and the final selection process will not be decided on financial assets alone. Anyone and everyone will be considered. This is not about money, but about helping as many people as possible with the available resources.

Because this project is organic and incorporates a modular sustainability model, there has been no limit set for the maximum number of participating members. Therefore, if you desire to be considered as a member of the Timeline 2012 community project, please complete and submit your Member Application.

A wide variety of skills and skill sets are desired to complete the community profile. The Member Application allows for a detailed explanation of any skills that you may have. For information on a few of primary skill sets, please review the Committee List.

If you are interested in the Timeline 2012 Community Project, the Membership Committee invites you to complete the Member Application Form on this website.
